Northeast Georgia Civics

Your Town Works Better When You Show Up

Independent, nonpartisan civic education and open county forums across Athens, Toccoa, Hartwell, Elberton, Commerce, and Clayton. We never endorse candidates or parties.

Our Nonpartisan Standard

City hall and the county commission belong to every resident living here. We do not endorse candidates, back political parties, or take partisan stances. We don't take sides. We help people take part.

Civic Guardians of NE GA Charter

— Core Programs

Direct Civic Services

Every program is completely free, open to all residents, and focused on practical municipal mechanics across Northeast Georgia foothill counties.

Civics Classes

Free foundational workshops explaining city councils, county commissions, and school board operations. Sessions run monthly in local libraries for teens and adults.

Town Hall Forums

Balanced public forums where neighbors question elected county officials directly. We ensure equal speaking time on local roads, water maintenance, and annual municipal budgets.

Voter Information

Straightforward precinct directions, voter registration assistance, and neutral sample ballot reviews. We explain municipal ballot questions without party positions or candidate ratings.

Clean-Ups & Safety Walks

Regular volunteer road cleanups and neighborhood pedestrian safety assessments. Neighbors gather with work gloves and trash bags to care for foothill corridors.

Help Reaching Local Offices

Direct guidance connecting residents to the correct county administrator or municipal department. We clarify which public agency handles your culvert, drainage, or zoning concern.
